Smartseal wood sealer is an effective wood preserver and wood protector specially formulated for use on sheds, fences, garden furniture & decking. Once applied, the wood sealer creates an invisible waterproof barrier that will help prevent the ingress of moisture on ingress on pressure treated softwoods such as fences, sheds, garden furniture and decking. The wood waterproofer is also a wood preservative that is specially formulated to protect your outdoor wooden surfaces for up to 10 years. The water-resistant surface will also inhibit the growth and spread of mould and algae which is a big problem with softwoods, especially in shaded north-facing areas of locations with high levels of rainfall.

- Cannot be painted over or used on top of paint, as they will prevent one another from adhering to the wood.
To ensure the best results and prior to application, all wooden surfaces being treated should be thoroughly cleaned first.

Application:
Apply only the wood preservative to dry surfaces above 8°C with a surface temperature no higher than 23°C and no rain forecast for at least 4 hours.
Apply 2 coats by sprayer, roller or brush with application of second coat within 4 hours.
Wear appropriate safety wear when applying the wood protector and sealer.
Q: Good afternoon, Can you let me know if this can be applied to Thermo wood And will it stop the timber from fading? Ideally we want the Thermo wood to silver down as normal. Many thanks Scott
A: The wood sealer can be applied to heat treated wood. It may slow down and help prevent the wood from fading but this would not be a key feature of the product. The wood sealer is primarily used to help protect the wood from water ingress and subsequent deterioration caused by this.
Q: Dear Sir or Madam, I have 100 square meters of outdoor wood to protect. Can you please tell me how many liters I need to cover that area? How much time would you need to send it to me. Therfe is no real hurry. Thank you Kind regards Renate Mader ( Mrs )
A: average coverage of the wood sealer is 3-5sqm per litre so 25 litres would be required to treat 100sq metres. Coverage may be affected by the porosity of the wood so you could need slightly more or less.
Q: Would the wood sealer work to protect hardwood plywood used as shelves in an outdoor cupboard which in windy weather may be exposed to driving rain?
A: It is suitable for internal and external use. The wood sealer can be applied to protect hardwood plywood on an outdoor cupboard but because of the dense surface it may be harder for the wood sealer to penetrate into the surface unlike softer wooden surfaces.
